The Writing Program is hosting film maker Irene Luszig this week for a screening of her 2018 documentary Yours in Sisterhood, with a q&a to follow on Thursday, September 20 at 7:00pm in White Hall 208:
Yours in Sisterhood (D)Yours in Sisterhood is a performative documentary based on letters from an archival collection, “Letters to Ms. 1972-1980,” a collective portrait of feminist conversation now and forty years ago. If you attend the screening and write a paragraph or two in a blog post in response, I will award you extra credit. I have not seen the film yet, but I’ll be there on Thursday. I suspect it will be fruitful for you to write about how the visual imagery of the film works alongside the text/audio of the letters. How is that process different in film than it is in comics?
Hope to see you there!
